E911 Anywhere™ Hosted - Capabilities

E911 Anywhere™ Hosted is perfect for SMBs where 50 to 500 phones need E911 protection.

A location record is created for each telephone by the administrator in using the E911 Anywhere™ Hosted web portal. Location records can be created for phones that sit behind an IP PBX as extensions or records can be created for phones that have DID numbers. Analog and digital phones as supported as long as the PBX can send 911 calls from these phones out as native IP calls. It is the responsibility of the administrator to change the location of a phone if it is moved within the enterprise, updating the web portal.

When a 911 call is made, the IP/PBX will send the 911 call over a broadband internet connection. This connection can be a T1, a cable modem, MPLS, SIP trunks, etc. This connection is the end customer’s responsibility. The 911 call is sent over this internet connection to the session border controller at the E911 Anywhere™ Hosted VCP datacenter. The SBC retrieves the location for the call telephone number or extension number and compares to the PSAP boundary map, selecting the appropriate PSAP for the location. The VPC routes the call to the PSAP over a national emergency network and forwards the location as well to the PSAP.
