Countdown To Federal E911 Legislation: Florida

Countdown to Federal E911 Legislation…

Are you prepared for when the new federal E911 legislation goes into effect this September? We will be discussing a different state every Thursday, so you can get the most up-to-date E911 information about your state’s requirements, what this means for you, and what you can do to become compliant. This week we are highlighting the Sunshine State, Florida.

Five Things You Didn't Know About RedSky

More than one million workers, students, and security teams rely on RedSky for E911 protection. These one million make up some of the world’s largest corporations and institutions in the US, and many are actively expanding across multiple state lines. The idea of operating without boundaries is the future for high performing businesses, schools, and governments; and it doesn’t just apply to the traditional locations where work is typically done. The modern workforce is more mobile than ever. Rather than occupying another brick and mortar office building, or teaching in a physical lab, we are relying more and more on remote access to our jobs and education. RedSky makes E911 solutions that prioritize your mobility, so no matter where you choose to work, you are protected.

Citizen’s Call to Action for Reliable E911 Solutions

Imagine calling 9-1-1. You are immediately overcome with a sense of panic. Time slows down, and you begin to worry when the help you called for will arrive. Now, imagine if help never comes. This was the case for one Twitter user, who has now made it a mission to spread awareness about some major shortcomings in our country’s emergency preparedness. The user's feed implores followers to take their safety seriously and learn about potential points of exposure when calling 9-1-1. A citizen, not a company, taking up the mantle in this arena piqued my interest.

Countdown To Federal E911 Legislation: Illinois

Welcome to Our Countdown to Federal E911 Legislation…

Are you prepared for when the new federal E911 legislation goes into effect this September? We will be discussing a different state every Thursday, so you can get the most up-to-date E911 information about your state’s requirements, what this means for you, and what you can do to become compliant. The first state we’re discussing is close to home, literally. It’s where we were founded, and where we still operate today: the Land of Lincoln, Illinois.

What Do Haleyville, Alabama, the National Association of Fire Chiefs, and the Murder of Kitty Genovese Have in Common?

It’s hard to fathom a time when calling 9-1-1 wasn’t an option. Today, nearly 99% of people across the US have access to dialing this ubiquitous number. However, it has only been a little over fifty years since the first 9-1-1 call was successfully placed in Haleyville, Alabama. Even more shocking is the fact that 50% of the US was without 9-1-1 implementation until practically 1990. Our society’s almost absolute reliance on this one number in such a short period of time is astounding.

Talking Cisco Live with Ken Rosko

I recently began working for RedSky Technologies...as a writer. I never thought I would say I work for a tech company, but here we are! Since I’ve started, I’ve been busy writing all about E911, its importance, and how we fit into 9-1-1. So, I figured I’d switch things up. The phrase “Cisco Live” had been floating around the office ever since I started, and I decided to get the inside scoop. I sat down with Ken Rosko, our VP of Business Development, self described king of the universe and resident Cisco Live pro, to talk about the biggest event of the year.
