South Carolina E911 Legislation
While this state does not currently have it's own E911 legislation, federal E911 legislation has been signed affecting all U.S. companies. The President signed Bill H.R. 1625 that instructed the FCC to set the rules to ensure that the dispatchable location is conveyed with a 9-1-1 call, regardless of the technological platform used and including with calls from multi-line telephone systems. This means every 9-1-1 call will require adequate location information, which typically means the street address of the calling party, and possibly room and floor numbers.
